St.Claret College (SCC), Bangalore, managed by the international network of Claretian Missionaries, from its humble beginning in 2005 has witnessed phenomenal growth over the years and today it has several undergraduate programs in Commerce, Management, Computer Science, and Humanities.
All work and no play makes jack a dull boy. The much awaited Fresher’s Day held on July 19, 2016 .The event also served to welcome the new faculty members to the college. The competition for the coveted title of Mr. and Miss Fresher, had the contestants, striving to exhibit their talents in the best possible manner. The gigs included playing various musical instruments, painting, singing, beat boxing, dance numbers and a standup comedy act. The students also engaged in a battle of wits with the jury members who sought out the most convincing and interesting answers. The whole atmosphere was charged with cheer and camaraderie with the senior students rooting and motivating the juniors. The theme 'Back to School' was much appreciated and had many students come with their school uniforms. The fun filled event ended with Mohammad Saud, I yr. BBA and Ms. Jovita, I yr. INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2016
St. Claret College held the 10th Investiture ceremony on July 16, 2016.The function began with the choir invoking God’s blessings and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The Chief Guest of the day was Dr. K. N Ninge Gowda, Registrar, Bangalore University. The occasion was graced by Rev. Dr. Sabu George, Rev. Fr. Vineeth George, Rev Fr. Benny Mathew, Rev. Fr. Joseph Mathew, Rev. Fr. Sojan and Rev. Fr Sinoj. The ceremonial march was led by the members of the student core council: College captains -Tom K Mathew and Vinam Gpkhale, Cultural Captains -Antony Raj and Vaishnavi Vaidyanathan and Sports captains - Sachin N and Sonal D’Souza which was followed by the representatives of various clubs, associations and class representatives. The chief guest Dr. K.N Ninge Gowda gave a highly motivational speech, stressing the need of good leaders in society. He exhorted the students to evaluate and analyse their leadership skills and be willing to lead an example. The student council were presented with their badges which was followed by the oath of allegiance. Principal Rev. Inauguration of the First Year Batch 2016-17
Eleventh academic year of St. Claret college was officially inaugurated on July 1, 2016. The day began with a prayer and was followed by the inaugural function. The function was presided over by Rev. Dr. Sabu George, Principal, St. Claret College. The chief guest of the day was Rev. Dr. George Kannanthanam, Director, Project Vision, Bangalore. In his keynote address he exhorted the students to dream and focus on their goals. He made the students to realize the importance of hard-work, ethics and leadership values to unlock their potential and to develop their talents in a holistic manner. Faculty Development Program Conducted at Christ University
A two day faculty development programme was conducted by St. Claret College on June 27-28, 2016 at Christ University, Bangalore. The workshop was aimed at acquainting teachers with new methods and techniques of teaching. Dr (Fr) Thomas C Mathew, Vice Chancellor, Christ University, welcomed the teachers and exhorted them to develop strategies to foster humane values in the students and internalize the mission and vision of St. Claret College. Various topics discussed were Academic Audit, Professional Learning in the Teaching profession, Education in the Changing World, How to be a Brilliant Mentor, Using Technology in Classrooms, and On Followership. These sessions helped the teachers to understand the need of the hour to change from traditional classroom settings and to become technology savvy. State Level Kannada Seminar
Department of Kannada of St Claret College in association with Karnataka Sahitya Academy organised One Day State- Level Seminar on " Life and work of Shri K P Poornachandra Tejaswi" on April 26, 2016.
The session was inaugurated by Dr Nataraj Huliyar, director of Gandhi Bhavan, Bangalore. Dr H Nagabhushana, Associate Profesor, Tumkur University was the chief guest for the day. Rev Dr Sabu George, the Principal; Rev Fr Vineeth George, the Vice Principal and Mr Madesh, the Convener were present during the programme.
Renowned folk singer Anekal Sidhuraj performed during the programme. The seminar received 35 academic papers from different parts of Karnataka.[+] Read More
