NSS team visited SumanahalliThe National Service Scheme (NSS) of St Claret College organised a one-day trip to Sumanahalli- A home for Leprosy and HIV on 1 August, Saturday. Around 40 new members of NSS visited Sumanahalli as a part of their orientation programmeFr. Peter D'souza, Director of the Sumanahalli, educated the team about leprosy and HIV. Guest Lecture on Literary and Art Forms
The Literary Club organized a Guest Lecture on "Literary and Art Forms" on August 05, 2015 in St. Claret College for students of all three B.A batches and the first and second year batches of BBM, B.Com and BCA departments.The Chief Guest was the multi- talented Mr.John Devaraj, who is a sculptor, painter, architect, cinema and stage art director, musician, photographer and puppeteer. He is also the facilitator and consultant for several culture,youth and children's organizations. Mr.John addressed the gathering with a song . He explained about various art forms of the world and literature by giving examples from the real world. He also shared his thoughts on his life experiences. The session was an interesting one. SCC Students Participated "Happy Camp" organised by Jesus Youth Ministry
A two day camp for freshmen named "Happy Camp" was hosted by Christ University on July 25 & 26, 2015. This camp was initiated by Jesus Youth Campus Ministry, Bangalore. A team of 24 members from St. Claret College and St. Claret PU College participated in this camp. The camp aimed at introducing Christ at a fresher level and was led by Mr. Shaan and Mr.Sujay, the Jesus Youth volunteers of SCC. St. Claret College bags the Bangalore University Cycling Championship
St. Claret College emerged as the Overall winner of the Bangalore University Inter-collegiate Road Cycling Championship held on Wednesday, July 29. Sagar M.C of St. Claret College won the individual championship by securing first prize in criterium (7.5km), road mass start (18km) and team time trial (6km). Sarvan Bhagat, Kesavan, Umesha. Newly elected Student Council assumes charge
The newly elected Student Council members took the solemn oath of office on
25th July, Saturday. Dr. K. K Seethamma, registrar of Bangalore University was
the chief guest for the day.
Rev. Dr. Sabu George, Principal, Fr. Vineeth George, Vice Principal, Rev Fr.
Thomas Thennady former Principal of St. Claret College, Rev. Fr. Sojan K.
Abraham, Principal, Claret PU College, Rev. Fr. Benny Mathew, Principal,
Antony Claret School and Ms. Shashikala, Staff coordinator, were also present
for the ceremony.
Rev. Fr. Vineeth George, Vice Principal, administered the oath to the College
Captions, Cultural and Sports representatives. President and vice presidents of
various clubs and associations along with class representatives also took the oath.
The newly appointed Student Council Members were adorned with sashes and
received the flag from the Chief Guest Dr. K. K Seethamma and Rev. Dr. Sabu
George. During the swearing-in ceremony, the members of the student council
were bestowed with badges for their respective posts.
Dr. Seethamma addressed the issues and challenges of higher education in India.
“Higher education should brace itself to meet the global challenges with research
and extension activities. Education should focus on human values and character
development, not on money and fame,” said Dr. Seethamma. She focused on the
need to develop the human capital through education to make India a developed
nation in the world. Rev. Dr. Sabu George congratulated the student
representatives and motivated them to become transformational leaders in college
The College elections were held on July 16, 2015. Students exercised their voting
