Achivements

SCC has witnessed rapid growth from its humble beginnings in 2005. Driven by the quest for excellence, SCCendeavours to impart holistic education, to meet global needs, contribute to national development and inculcate humane values. Various student support facilities contribute to the overall development of the students in addition to the academic excellence. Regular faculty development programmes are also organized to fine-tune the skills of the teaching community.

National Conferences

  • Vijnan 2011, National Conference on Global Competence and Sustainability was organized at SCC on April 7 & 8, 2011. The Conference was inaugurated by Honourable Justice SanthoshHegde. Prominent Speakers at the Conference included Dr. T. V. Rao, Dr. Bisilaiah, Dr. VasanthiSrinivasan and Dr. Subhashini.
  • A Hindi National Conference on DharmaveerBharathi Ki Kavitaein was held on September 16, 2011.

Faculty Paper Presentation
  • Principal, Rev. Fr. Thomas Thennady presented a paper on Best Practices in Organisation and Management at the National Conference on Quality Management in Higher Education-Role of IQAC organized by KristuJayanthi College, Bangalore on November 11 &12, 2010.
  • Mr. D. YoganandaRao delivered a Guest Lecture on Yeats’ Second Coming and the Gulf Wars in MLA College for Women, Malleswaram, Bangalore on February 14, 2012.
  • Mr. Rony Jose from the department of Psychology presented a paper on “The Psychological Impacts on Children and Adolescents Infected or Affected by HIV/AIDS” during the national conference on Child and Adolescent Psychology: Issues and Challengesorganised by CMR Centre for Media and Management Studies, Bangalore on 10th and 11th February, 2012.
  • Mr. D. YoganandaRao delivered a Guest Lecture on Galsworthy’s Loyalties and the Representation of 1920s British Society, in VVN Degree College, VV Puram, Bangalore on February 21, 2012.
  • Ms. Geeta Singh from the Hindi department presented a paper on "Pravasi Hindi Sahithya" in the international conference held at SIES College, Mumbai on January 27 & 28, 2012.
  • Mr. D. YoganandaRaoattended a Workshop on BU Communicative English Syllabus Revision at Govt. First Grade College, Vijayanagar, Bangalore on March 14, 2012
  • Ms. Angela Jean Mary E., from the department of Psychology presented a paper on Music and Wellbeing among Today’s Youth at the international conference on Music and Psychology organized by Department of Psychology, Bangalore University on 27 & 28 April, 2012

Faculty Development Programmes
  • Prajnan 2010, Faculty Development Workshop by international faculty was launched on February 11, 2010 by the Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University, Prof. N. Prabhu Dev. Prof. Lynnea Brinkerhoff and Prof. Michael Pergola from the United States guided the sessions.
  • The department of Computer Sciences organized a state-level Microsoft Workshop on Visual C++ and Visual Basic .Net on September 22, 2010.
  • Prajnan 2011- Faculty Development Workshop on Cloud Computing and ICT was organized by the Department of Computer Science on March 16, 2011.
  • Prajnan 2012: State-level Microsoft Skill Development Workshop on Windows Azure, Virtualization and Windows Phone 7 was organized by the department of Computer Science for faculty and students of Computer Science department on February 24, 2012.

Students’ Paper Presentation
Department of English and Humanities organized State-level conference on February 29, 2012for students of Optional English on the topic, "The Space in Between: An Exploration of the Texts and their Worlds." Ms. Ruby John and Ms. Annie Tudufrom the host college presented papers on the occasion.

Intercollegiate Championships
  • Won overall Championship at MLA College inter-collegiate Fest- SOWRABHA 2010
  • Won overall Championship at Maharani Ammani inter-collegiate Fest- Tharangini2011 held on December 19 & 20, 2012.
  • Won overall Championship at Kristujayanthiinter-collegiateDance Fest- Nrityanjali held on February 11, 2012.
  • Won overall Championship at Indian Academy inter-collegiate Fest, Yuvtarang 2012 held on February 8, 2012.
