St. Claret College library is a place of knowledge enhancement, which is designed in a way appropriate to meet the academic needs of the students and faculty. It provides a wide range of resources to its academic community. The library has a pool of academic resources such as books, magazines, Journals, statistics, encyclopedias, databases, back volumes, CDs/DVDs, project reports, audio/video cassettes, and question bank and the Internet. Through the completely automated library management system, users can access the library resources without any hassles. The library provides spacious seating arrangements and serene ambience for learning. Trained and committed library staff is at the service of the academic community.
The OPAC software system is helpful to the students to access the books with the touch of a button, without moving around. The library is divided into two sections; references and rentals. Multiple copies ensure that resources are easily available to meet the requirements of students.

Circulation of Materials:
Students may borrow books or Journals during working hours at the library Counter, through searching in the OPAC system and placing an order with the librarian. A Student may have a maximum of two books, for ten days, and books can be renewed after the period exceeds.
The Library materials in certain advertised categories may not be issued without special permission:
- Unbound Parts / Current Issues of Journals
- Encyclopedias
- Dictionaries
- Reference Books
- Project Reports
Instructions
- The library is a place of individual study and research. It is necessary to maintain an atmosphere of quiet and dignity inside the library. Students are, therefore reminded that conversation or consultation among themselves or noisy or demonstrative greeting of friends inside the library is not permissible.
- Personal belongings, including personal books are not to be taken inside the library.
- The library shall be open on all working days from 08:30 to 04:00 PM.
- Books from the reference section are not to be taken out of the library. Books taken from the reference section are to be kept back in the same place.
- No books/ periodicals/ newspapers other than the ones issued against one’s library cards are allowed to be taken outside the library.
- Books will be issued against the library card (two books per card). Exchange of cards between students is strictly prohibited. A book can be re- issued to the same person if there is no reservation for it. Not more than two consecutive renewals are permitted.
- Text books will not be issued to the students. They are strictly for reference only.
- The library books shall be handled with care, without causing any damage to them. Loss of book / damage should be notified to the librarian immediately. Damages will have to be reimbursed. If a book is lost, the borrower must pay double the price of the lost book.
- An overdue charge of Re. 1 per day per book is levied from those who do not return the book on time.
- Magazines and newspapers taken from the rack are to be kept back in the same place.
- Students are not allowed inside the stack section. To borrow books, they have to browse the computers and place the request with the librarian.
- Registration of the books should be done while leaving the library. Books once registered should not be brought for reading inside the library.
- Students should sign the register kept in the library before and after using the internet facility.
