Department of Languages conducted a National – level Bilingual Literary Conference – February 8, 2018
Department of Languages conducted a national–level Bilingual Literary Conference in Hindi-Kannada on February 8, 2018. More than 100 delegates from across the country took part in the Conference and deliberated upon kannada folklore and the literary works of Jnanpith 2017 awardee Krishna Sobti. Altogether 92 paper presentations were made during the day.
Renowned folklore critic Dr. Meera Sabhihalli Shivanna inaugurated the Conference, while Dr. Vrishab Dev Sharma, Former Director, Bharat Hindi Prachara Sabha, Hyderabad delivered the keynote address. Rev. Dr. Sabu George, the Principal presided over the Conference. Rev. Fr. Vineeth George, the Vice Principal; Mr. Madesh N, the HoD of the Dept of Languages were the other dignitaries of the day. Dr. Basavaraju, Dr. Rashmi, Ms. Shashikalamma, Mr Siddalingappa and Ms. Nishi Pathak were the Organizing Committee Members of the Conference.
