The Department of Languages was established in January 2015 and presently comprises Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam Languages. These languages are offered as a second language for all the Under Graduate courses like B.A, B.Com, B.Com (TT), BBA and BCA. The Language Department endows imparting essential lingo skills like creative thinking, communication, perception, morality, networking, creative writing, understanding, respecting cultures, expressing nativity and thoughts. Grooming students in these skills the Departments stretches its borders beyond academic curriculum. There are seven teachers in the Department and their experience in teaching is more than a decade. The Department also conducts spoken Kannada and Hindi classes for foreign and non-native students to survive in the local community. It also helps them to understand the need for acceptance and participation in a pluralistically rich and diverse society by making it an important component of their education. Thus the Department’s vision and mission are in line with that of the institution and all the activities of the department revolve around the realization of this vision.


To strive towards the overall enhancement of language skills encompassing all the basic skills of ‘Learning, Speaking, Reading and Writing (LSRW) and to help students in gaining a sense of pride and confidence about their languages, both regional and national.


To understand the need of acceptance and participation in a pluralistically rich and diverse society, with the education imparted from the department and to make the students logically correct, intellectually sound and emotionally sensitive.

The Department organized Guest lectures, Hindi Diwas celebrations, Book Exhibitions, Literary Week and a One-day State Level Seminar.
