Travel & Tourism – Conferences

The Department of Commerce TRAVEL AND TOURISM organizes an intra-collegiate PROJECT REPORT COMPETITION “CERCHIER”. This event is organized in order to increase the research aptitude amongst the students. The best three papers also win a cash prize.

Concept Note
Project-based learning not only provides opportunities for students to collaborate or drive their own learning, but it also teaches them skills such as problem solving, and helps to develop additional skills integral to their future, such as critical thinking and time management. And maybe more importantly, it provides students with an opportunity to create authentic projects which are personal and meaningful to them. Students have the chance to pursue their own interests and as a result, opportunities for learning for students and teachers are tremendous.

This project report competition will focus on providing opportunities for young students from the tourism background to present their project that they have worked as a part of the curriculum. Emphasis is expected to be given on involvement how the students integrated the project activity.

Students from different Universities/ Colleges / Institutes which offer courses in Tourism disciplines are requested to submit full research projects on the following themes in the context of Tourism. These themes are suggestions and students may submit their projects beyond these suggestions if they are relevant to tourism.

• TOURISM BUSINESS
• TOURISM PRODUCTS
• TRAVEL AGENCY AND TOUR OPERATORS
• TOURISM MARKETING
• TOURISM DEVELOPMENT, PLANNING AND POLICIES
