“From Freshman to Flourishing”

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

May you always remember,
How wonderful you are,
In your own way.

Things that Matter!

Need
Mother’s love,
Father’s protection,

Why Would I?

There are things that we shouldn’t ask
nor should we try to find out about
Sometimes it’s better to not know the truth,
I’d rather drink the poison liquid
than know that you were the one
I’d rather believe what I have seen
than doubt you

Life As We Know It

What boundaries could there be to one’s imagination of perfection. Humans are not capable of being happy all the time. Not even one human, who ever lived, I imagine, was happy every second of his lifetime. In fact, most babies cry out at birth, but of course that’s not always an emotion induced action but one of that, mode of survival i.e., to expel out liquid from the lungs, nose and mouth. So that must mean that there is always room for improvement in one’s quality of life. Now, this doesn’t signify that a shortage of material, intellectual or social resources leads to a state of disequilibrium. But rather, in my opinion, one’s attitude and response to the whirlwind of life is what ultimately dictates one’s appreciation or unappreciation of it. Which is why, even hypothetically, to imagine, from the age of twenty- one to eighty-three, all things in my life going well, seems...well, impossible!

Tears of joy

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door, to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal the next morning.
However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly and then asked, “how much do I owe you?” “You don’t owe me anything, “She replied. “Mother has taught us never to accept money for kindness, '' He said, “then I thank you from my heart”.

Goodness Me!

Out of all the planets in all the galaxies, I was chosen to explore Earth! After awaiting many centuries to receive my personal exploration grant, I would have accepted nearly anything. Oh, how I regret agreeing to my allotment now. Humans have got to be one of the most paradoxical and arcane creatures in this entire universe!

FRIEND

"A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED" The quote "A friend in need is a friend indeed", explains the importance of true friends. Whenever a person feels detached or lonely, resulting in anxiety or depression, a helpful friend can help us overcome the situation very quickly.

Rational Choice Theory

The rational choice theory states that individuals use rational calculations to make rational choices, with the limited options they have available, to achieve outcomes that give them the greatest benefit and satisfaction.

SRINIVASA RAMANUJAN- THE GREAT MATHEMATICIAN

The Prisoner’s Dilemma

Brian and Nathania are found at a crime scene. Given the physical evidence, they’re each looking at one year in prison. However, the cops want more than that. They take Brian and Nathania to separate holding cells and present them with two choices:

SOCIAL MEDIA: YOUTUBE

In present times, social media plays an increasingly important role in the life of society. People spend a lot of time online because they see social media as an important source of information while also allowing them to share their concerns regarding issues important to them.

Have you heard of the Clone Phone?

All of us are very attached to our phones and it has even become part of our culture to have the latest phones. Recently, many brands have emerged and have taken over the market, brands such as: Realme, Redmi, Oppo, OnePlus, etc.

Memories forever

It came to us glittering,
Like a bright sunny day.
But we were unaware when the clouds gathered in the sky,
And the light had faded away.

Why Young Adult Literature Is Here to Stay

Young Adult (YA) literature often gets a bad rep. It’s thought-frivolous, badly written and overabundant with tropes. However, YA is what can be termed “the best of all worlds.” It is a melting pot of genres

MUSINGS

The first thought that came to my mind as I wrote the date was how tranquil it was last month. Now things have taken a U turn and here I am, sitting under the moonlight with you for company, while another side of the world is fighting

Let Her Be

Teach your daughters to say “no.”
Teach your sons not to take a woman’s body by force.
Teach them that their body is neither a house nor a hotel.
A woman’s opinion matters.
Their screams for justice must be heard.

Hope Amidst Pandemic

It's been awhile since we felt normalcy and the natural ease of life. Now that we're stuck in our respective homes for quite a while, one thing that happens to keep me grounded is Hope. A word so underrated and strong that has the power to either make

College Life

This is all about degree,
Can’t get it back I agree!
So here we are at St.Claret to make our memory last,
They are just the things we can’t do in a hurry.
Walking every morning upstairs tells me more in hurry,
Every time when late, we were not excused by a sorry!

Time-out!

When I was younger, I often found myself amused at the punishments handed out to kids in the West. “You’re grounded!” had always been an alien concept to me. Little did I know what I had coming.

The Proud Claretine

Those wide-open gates
Will no longer welcome me
Will they?
The sight of this beautiful campus,
I will miss, and can anything replace you?
