SRINIVASA RAMANUJAN- THE GREAT MATHEMATICIAN

Srinivasa Ramanujan is considered to be one of the greatest mathematicians. He is known for his great works and research. He has given us lot of theories that are very popular and are relevant even to this day.

He was born on 22 nd December 1887 in Erode. Ramanujan pursued mathematics in the latter half of his education and became an expert in it after which he became known for a number of conditions he made in the Number Theory.

During his study, he referred to few books written by International mathematicians and after a couple of years, he made his own theories in Mathematics. He came up with a lot of theories and the most famous ones are as follows: Ramanujan constant, Mock theta functions, Ramanujan prime, Ramanujan theta functions, Ramanujan sum, etc. He was also given the title “Fellow” of the Royal Society.

He worked for a very short period as he died at the age of 32. But his theories are still alive in the world of Mathematics. He was a man who started from scratch and ended up becoming one of the greatest minds in the field of Mathematics.
