Where is St Claret College Located?
St Claret College, Autonomous (SCC) is located in Bangalore North, near BEL Circle beside
MES Ring Road, Jalahalli. The distance from Bangalore City Railway station to SCC is 8
kilometres. The College is within a radius of 2-3 KMs to Yeswanthpur, Mathikere and
Vidyaranyapura. It is easily accessible from all these localities. Umpteen numbers of buses
plying connect the college to different parts of the city. The bus stop is situated just a few
meters away.

Yes, St. Claret College is an Autonomous College. An autonomous college has the freedom
to design its own curriculum, conduct examinations, and evaluate students, while still being
affiliated to a university. This allows quicker results, updated syllabi, and innovative, skill-
oriented teaching. In contrast, an affiliated college follows the syllabus, examination system,
and academic calendar set by the university, with limited flexibility. The degree is awarded
by the parent university, but autonomy ensures better academic quality, relevance, and
student-focused learning.
What are the class timings of the college?
The Classes begin at 9 AM and conclude at 3:00 PM on the weekdays, with a short break of
15 minutes at 11 AM and 45 minutes lunch break after at 12.15 PM. And on Saturdays
Classes begin at 9 AM and conclude at 1:00 p.m.

What is the process of admission at St Claret College?
You can apply online through an online application from the college website or visit the
college for admissions. The information regarding the interview date and timings shall be
informed to the student after receiving the application.
When should I submit a request for a seat in the hostel?
You should submit the request for a seat in the hostel as soon as you take admission in the
college, as the requests are processed on a first-come-first-served basis, and rooms fill up
quickly.
Will manual admission applications be given in the college admin office?
Yes, you could visit the admin office and collect the admission applications

Can I request a refund of my application fee?
There is no refund for the application fee paid.
What happens when I fail to submit my original documents after the admission to the college?
A student is required to submit all original documents to the college, namely: Marks Cards
(10th, 11th, and 12th for UG admission; and I to VI Semester UG Marks Cards for PG
admission), Transfer Certificate, photocopy of Caste Certificate, Aadhaar Card, and
Provisional Degree Certificate (for PG students). In addition, non-Karnataka students must
submit a Migration Certificate; NRI students must submit copies of their Passport and Visa;
and foreign nationals must submit photocopies of their Passport, Visa, and Residential
Permit. Failure to submit the required documents will result in cancellation of admission and
forfeiture of fees.
When do I get back the original certificates that are submitted during the admission?
All the Original Certificates will be returned after the approval of admission by the
Bangalore University. The college will retain only the original Transfer Certificate and
Migration Certificates along with photocopies of all the certificates.
Do I have to Pay the college fees during admissions?
Yes. Once you have completed your interview process, you are required to pay the college
fees in- order to confirm your admission to the college.
What can I expect during an admission interview?
The admission interview is a means for us to learn more about you and it allows us to
answer any questions you have about the college and the programme that you are opting to
study.
Will the college provide a hostel facility for students?
Yes, the Boys hostel is 100 meters away from the College. There are two hostels
administered by Rev. Sisters for girls. One hostel is inside the campus and the other is right
outside the campus.

Does SCC provide transportation facilities?
No. College doesn’t provide transportation facilities. However, the college has good
connectivity of public transport.
Is Second Language Compulsory for degree?
Yes, you are required to opt for any one Indian language or French offered by the college.
Studying a language other than English is mandatory during the first four semesters of UG
programmes. However, students who have not studied any Indian language in their
qualifying examinations may opt for Additional English in place of a second language.
I have studied Kannada as a second language during pre-university programme, can I
change my language to other languages during my Degree studies?
No, Bangalore University insists that you should study Kannada as your second language if
you studied it in your pre-university.

Yes, the college has a qualified, full time Sports Director, who is supported by other sports
coaches. Students are encouraged to participate in various sports and games at the
University, State, National and International levels.
Does the College encourage extra-curricular activities?
Yes, St. Claret College (SCC) actively encourages students to participate in extracurricular
activities. The college provides dedicated dance and music trainers, well-equipped dance
and music studios, and a gymnasium with a professional trainer. SCC also has a state-of-the-
art Audi-Visual Studio and an Incubation Centre. Students are consistently supported and
motivated to develop their talents and excel in extracurricular pursuits alongside academics.
What are the sports facilities at SCC?
Outdoor: The institution has multiple courts for the students to play Football, Kabadi,
KhoKho, Cricket, Basketball, Badminton, Throw Ball, Volleyball and Tennis. For best results,
the grounds and fields are maintained in high standards. The college quadrangle arena,
open quadrangle and Auditorium are used to perform yoga and aerobics by the students.
Dance studio is used for Zumba lessons.
