UIW Delegates Interact with SCC Student Representatives

UIW delegates, Dr. Michael Frye and Rev. Fr. Deejo Pathrose, interacted with student representatives of St. Claret College during a meaningful Student Interaction and Listening Session. The session provided a valuable platform for dialogue and mutual exchange. Students shared their academic experiences, leadership journeys, community engagement initiatives, aspirations, and perspectives on contemporary social issues. Reflecting the Synodal value of listening, the interaction encouraged mutual understanding, active participation, and shared learning. The session highlighted the students’ confidence, social responsibility, and global outlook, while also opening avenues for future student exchanges, collaborative projects, intercultural learning, and leadership development.

Student’s Cultural Performance ‘The Colours of India’

The cultural programme, “Nritya Bharat: The Colours of India,” celebrated the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the nation through a vibrant presentation of traditional and folk dance forms. Students showcased the beauty of India’s cultural tapestry through captivating performances representing different regions and traditions. Each dance reflected the unique customs, stories, rhythms, costumes, and artistic expressions of its community. The programme created a joyful atmosphere of cultural appreciation and unity, highlighting the spirit of “Unity in Diversity.” It provided an opportunity for students to learn, appreciate, and celebrate India’s diverse heritage while fostering friendship, creativity, teamwork, and cultural understanding.

Dr. Michael Frye Inspires Students as Guest of Honour at the Inauguration of Academic Year 2026-27

Dr. Michael Frye, Professor of Electrical Engineering and delegate from the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), San Antonio, Texas, USA, graced the Inauguration Ceremony of the Academic Year 2026–27 as the esteemed Guest of Honour. His presence added distinction and international significance to the occasion, reflecting the strong academic collaboration and shared commitment towards fostering global perspectives in higher education. Emphasizing the importance of knowledge, values, innovation, and social responsibility, Dr. Michael Frye urged students to become responsible global citizens who can make meaningful contributions to society. His address highlighted the transformative role of education in shaping future leaders and reinforced the significance of integrity, creativity, and collaboration in achieving academic and professional success.

Walking Together in Faith and Fellowship

Being part of the Synodality programme was a meaningful and enriching experience for me. The group interaction with the Synodality team gave us an opportunity to openly share our thoughts, listen to different perspectives, and understand the deeper meaning of walking together. The reflections shared by Fr. Nesti, Sr. Walter, Fr. Deejo, and Fr. Thomas encouraged me to appreciate the dignity and uniqueness of every individual. Participating in the Holy Mass added a spiritual dimension to the experience and reminded me of our shared responsibility to live with compassion, faith, and service. I came away with a renewed understanding that Synodality is about listening, connecting, and journeying together as one community.

An Experience of Communion and Shared Mission

The Synodality programme offered me an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with the members of the Synodality team and learn from their experiences and perspectives. The group interaction helped me understand that dialogue becomes meaningful when we listen with openness and respect. The Holy Mass was a particularly memorable part of the experience, bringing everyone together in prayer, fellowship, and a spirit of unity. The messages shared by Dr. Mike and Fr. Deejo encouraged me to look beyond academic learning and recognize the importance of compassion, responsibility, and service. The experience helped me see Synodality as a journey of communion, participation, and mission that connects people across cultures and communities.

A Journey Beyond the Classroom

The Synodality programme was a valuable experience that allowed me to learn beyond the boundaries of the classroom. During the group interaction with the Synodality team, I was inspired by the openness with which everyone shared their experiences, ideas, and reflections. It helped me understand the importance of listening to others and respecting different viewpoints. The prayer sessions and Holy Mass created a peaceful atmosphere for reflection and strengthened my sense of community and faith. The theme of human dignity particularly touched me and encouraged me to be more empathetic towards others. The experience taught me that true education is not only about knowledge but also about becoming a compassionate, responsible, and service-minded person.
