The second meeting of the SCC–UIW International Synodality Partnership Core Team focused on finalizing preparations for the visit of the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) delegation and reviewing the programme scheduled from 20–23 January 2026. The team approved the itinerary, which included academic sessions, student interactions, synodality discussions, cultural programmes, prayer services, and campus engagement activities. Deliberations emphasized effective coordination of logistics, hospitality, student participation, and technical arrangements to ensure a meaningful and enriching experience. The meeting reaffirmed the Synodal values of communion, participation, and mission, laying the foundation for collaborative dialogue, intercultural exchange, and holistic learning throughout the delegation's visit.

UIW Delegates’ Second Visit — SCC Welcomes UIW Delegates on Second Visit

St. Claret College warmly welcomed the delegation from the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), San Antonio, Texas, USA, on their second visit to the College. The visit provided greater clarity on the objectives of the synodality partnership and the key outcomes to be achieved over the five-year period of collaboration. The four-day programme brought together administrators, faculty members, and students to explore and strengthen collaborative opportunities in education, research, faith formation, community engagement, and student development. Through institutional interactions, academic discussions, cultural exchanges, and campus engagements, the visit fostered deeper mutual understanding and strengthened the bonds between the two institutions.

Strategic Collaborative Discussions on the SCC–UIW Partnership

As part of the Synodality Project, Fr. Deejo and Dr. Michael Frye engaged in a meaningful dialogue with Fr. Rony, Parish Priest of St. Anthony’s Church, Siddhartha Nagar, focusing on youth development and community empowerment. The discussion explored opportunities for UIW students to conduct global communication and leadership training sessions for village students during their forthcoming visit. The initiative seeks to broaden horizons, strengthen intercultural competencies, and empower young learners through meaningful global engagement.

Synodality Core Team’s Retreat at Coorg: Strengthening Collaboration and Shared Vision

The SCC Synodality Core Team, along with Rev. Fr. Deejo and Dr. Michael Frye, visited Coorg as part of their ongoing collaborative journey between St. Claret College, Autonomous, Bengaluru, and the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), San Antonio, Texas, USA. The retreat provided an enriching platform for strategic discussions, reflection, and planning for future initiatives, including global collaboration, research, student exchange programmes, and community engagement. The visit reinforced the values of dialogue, mutual learning, and collective commitment towards advancing the mission of synodality.

Synodality Prayer and Reflection Session - I

The Synodality Opening Prayer marked a significant spiritual milestone of the SCC–UIW partnership, bringing together participants at St. Claret College and representatives from the United States through a virtual platform. Led by Rev. Fr. Thomas, the prayer and reflection session emphasized the Synodal values of listening, dialogue, discernment, participation, and shared responsibility. It inspired participants to view the collaboration not merely as an academic partnership but as a shared journey of faith, learning, and mission, strengthening the commitment of both institutions to holistic development, mutual accompaniment, and service to society.

Synodality Prayer and Reflection Session - II

The Synodality Prayer and Reflection Session was a spiritually enriching and transformative gathering held as part of the collaborative journey between St. Claret College (Autonomous), Bengaluru, and the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), San Antonio, Texas, USA. The session commenced with the introduction of newly inducted members of the Synodality Project Team and reflections on the theme “Dignity of the Human Person.” The session was enriched by the presence of Sr. Walter Maher and Rev. Dr. Donald S. Nesti, CSSP, who joined virtually from the United States and shared their profound insights on human dignity, accompaniment, shared responsibility, and the vision of the Synodality Project. Through prayer, contemplation, and dialogue, participants reflected on the call to walk together in faith, embodying the values of communion, participation, and mission.

One Journey, One Faith: Synodality Holy Mass

The Synodality Holy Mass was a spiritually enriching celebration that brought together the students and faculty of St. Claret College and the UIW Leadership Team in a spirit of faith, unity, and communion. The Holy Eucharist was concelebrated by Fr. Deejo, Fr. Thomas, and Fr. Joseph, who led the community in prayer and reflection. The celebration beautifully expressed the essence of Synodality—walking together, listening to one another, and journeying together in faith and mission. It provided a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship and collaboration between SCC and UIW. The gathering concluded with a renewed commitment to shared values, service, and community.
